I am proud to support authorizing the funding for @PDXStResponse (PSR) that the Council appropriated last June. It was a smart investment then, and only grows more necessary as we continue to see our public safety system fail to meet the justified needs of a frustrated community.

Portlanders & the Department of Justice have asked us to transform our public safety system, & this is why. This disturbing image was not just the work of a single individual: it’s also the passive acceptance of those who do nothing.

Gas leaf blowers emit toxic pollutants, particulate matter, and noise that creates negative health impacts for people nearby. This policy is the culmination of many years of hard work and advocacy to make Portland a healthier and cleaner place to live.

Today, I helped @PortlandGov / @multco release this report. We’ve made/will continue to make significant investments so #pdx is more resilient in the face of disasters. But w/ a Cascadia earthquake, it will happen & we will either be ready, or we won’t.

Yesterday I joined City Council for a preview of the Clinton Triangle Temporary Alternative Shelter Site managed by Urban Alchemy, which will work to ensure dignity and respect for our houseless community members.

Great afternoon being @HereforPortland . 1st stop: opening the Cart Blocks, the food trucks at the south end of the North Park Blocks. Then, I had the pleasure of introducing @PinkMartiniBand for a sing-along in @thesquarepdx . Join more events:

It's vital for Portland to foster an inclusive business climate. Yesterday I met with Latine business owners to listen to their concerns & challenges. We heard stories of resilience & hope, as well as great ideas to weave together a stronger, multicultural fabric for our city.

I am so proud of everything my office has accomplished in our first 2 years. I recently sat down with the @PortlandMercury to discuss how we’ll continue to move forward on Portland values around equity, housing, climate, safety, and more.
