C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous venons d’apprendre le décès de Thierry Desmarest qui fut à la tête de Total pendant plus de 15 ans. En réunissant Total, Fina et Elf, il est l’homme qui a bâti et fait de notre entreprise un groupe de taille mondiale dans le Top 5 des majors. Alors que s’ouvre l’année du centenaire de @TotalEnergies, nous ne nous serions pas ce que nous sommes sans sa vision et son esprit stratège. 🇳🇬🤝 It was a great pleasure to meet President Tinubu in Abuja and review @TotalEnergies’ future investment program in #Nigeria & the support we can provide to reduce emissions there. TotalEnergies announced to put an end this month to routine flaring in its operated ventures in Nigeria and to share with @nnpclimited its drone based #AUSEA technology to measure methane emissions . This will concretely support Nigeria to deliver the commitments made at #COP28 .

Walking the talk in our commitment to slash methane emissions in the Oil & Gas sector, with our partners from National Companies @petrobras 🇧🇷, @sonangol 🇦🇴 and @Socar 🇦🇿. Today, @TotalEnergies is transferring its advanced #drone based #technology for measuring and reducing #MethaneEmissions. This aligns with the @COP28_UAE Presidency's call to engage major industrial sectors in the success of the Conference, and is consistent with the new OGDC Charter, endorsed by more than 50 O&G companies. #COP28

🌍 At @COP28_UAE, 110 nations committed to tripling #renewable energy by 2030. At @TotalEnergies we signed the declaration to support this call. As a proof of our commitment we just inked the investment agreement for a 1 GW #wind & #battery project in Kazakhstan. Such project will help us multiply by more than triple our own #renewable capacity.

🌍 At @COP28_UAE where I exchanged with @ClimateEnvoy John Kerry on how @TotalEnergies is bringing its full support to the Global Flaring and #Methane Reduction (GFMR) trust fund, an initiative of the @WorldBank. Slashing down methane emissions is a quick win in the battle against #climate change and is a big issue here at COP28. So let’s unite, act and deliver!
