@scbankersassoc It's worth noting that credit unions paid $38.1 million in direct state taxes in 2023. This argument doesn't hold water.

So many of SC’s smaller cities and towns are burdened by the current regulation. CUs carry depository insurance, are more connected to local economies, may offer higher returns, and keep local money local. Restricting competition doesn’t work for anyone but the banks.
