Thanks to @grahamemorris for submitting this parliamentary question on Prison Officer pay - we need Pay Justice for Prison staff who do a stressful job in a very hostile environment. Let's see the Minster acknowledge this with a 6.5% pay rise for each of the next two years

Fair pay is essential if high attrition rates in the Prison Service are to be addressed. Thanks to @grahamemorris for recognising this and submitting this parliamentary question - let's hope the Government recognise this as well and deliver pay justice for Prison Officers

As the @POAnatchair says we would not repudiate the alleged action as this was not industrial action. This was individuals protecting their health and safety which is enshrined in law. What I find shocking but not surprised at is that after 4 Officers being seriously assaulted the first thing the Governor wanted was a full regime at all costs. Time now for @ShabanaMahmood to get a grip instead of threatening the POA with injunctions and contempt of court. Steve Gillan Gen Sec.
When staff retreat to a safe place they do so because the regime they are being forced to work is unsafe . Why would the Governor then expect them to carry on that regime? Then threaten them with court action? Why don’t these people listen ?

Looking forward to this on Saturday 22nd March 2025. The POA will never give up on the campaign to repeal Section 127 and MPs need to step up and argue for basic fundamental human rights. New Labour MPs need to speak out and stop hiding in relation to Prison Officers having the right to strike. Steve Gillan Gen Sec.
