Eamonn Deacy died 9 years ago today. He was never paid a penny for playing for Galway United. He played for Rep of Ireland & won English league with Aston Villa. He was Galway’s first ever captain & scored the club’s first ever goal. It was an honour to see him play.

My son was born 13 weeks prematurely on this day 12 years ago. Every year, he goes back to the Neonatal Intensive Care unit at UHG to thank the staff who cared for him and saved his life. This year it was awkward because he’s now taller than them. Thank you

This day 11 years ago, the amazing staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Galway saved my son’s life. He was born 13 weeks prematurely & spent 105 days in their care. Today he called in to say thanks and they discovered that he’s nearly as tall as them now.
