How many IH guys do you know have the special RH tap for tie rod tubes. let alone the LH tap for Wheatland outer tie rod tubes? Huge shout out to McMaster Carr for having USA ones on hand. Only place I found that had them in stock and in my hands in a couple days!

I was reminded today of why I very, very rarely buy anything from All States Ag Parts. I despise them with a passion. Nothing but false advertising and piss poor service. what was pictured vs. what I received. If I had known this I wouldn't have bought any.

40 years ago today marks the last IH tractor (5488) to roll off the assembly line at the Farmall Works plant in Rock Island, Illinois.

Out with the old, in with the new. well not quite yet but getting there. Had bigger reliefs cut into pistons and chamfered for valve clearance for custom grind high lift cam, also had fire rings cut into sleeves to hold some power without popping head gaskets left and right.

Quick PTO rebuild with a few updates. customer told me it was done at a large Case IH dealer 2 years ago, found they failed to put a clutch housing gasket in, which resulted in lower pressures & slipped all the discs and scorched the spring. quality "Certified Technicians".

Since my new Quadtracs and high-speed tillage tools didn't show up yet, I guess I'll have to use this old junk another year.

Well. I suppose it's about that time of year again.

Random shop things. couple DT466 engine overhaul kits I need to cut fire ring grooves in sleeves, 68 Ford FE 390 engine I drug home because I have an addiction, and hard to find late Super M grille and hood. never a dull moment!

Tore into another 400 series. everything was STD./STD. However, the rods & 5 inner mains were dated early 90's, #1 & #7 were original IH bearings & the front 6 main caps had .001" to .002" (shims) installed. I noticed a really weird wear pattern on those bearings & found this.

Just a few road trip sightings. which one do you think is the most valuable?

Went chasing after some parts today and seen this. at what point do you think that they'll think it's not worth fixing anymore. note that I have never and will never work on something like this unless it's a remove and replace situation! .#rodehardandputawaywet

Third times a charm. maybe. at least this one didn't end up in scrap iron pile right away!

Another DT468 (466 C-series) cleaned up and in for tear down for customers pulling tractor. I'm not having good luck.

Got my hands on some more N.O.S. IH Bosch MW fuel pumps! If anyone wants one shoot me a message.
