Congrats to
@CUBCsquad
on their victory yesterday. Though difficult to come up short on the day, the crew can be immensely proud of their performance. Many thanks to all supporters, coaches & sponsors for ensuring a safe

could go ahead.

It was incredible to watch Eliud Kipchoge and the INEOS 1:59 team this morning. Sixty five years after history was made at the Iffley Sports Centre with Sir Roger Bannister and the four minute mile, arguably the greatest milestone in sport has been broken.
For the 2024 Boat Race and beyond, men and women from both the openweight and lightweight squads will represent one united Oxford University Boat Club.
We’re delighted that this account will now represent both the women and men of OUBC.
Congratulations to
@CUBCsquad
on their excellent performances yesterday. Though ultimately both crews fell short of the mark they set themselves, we are immensely proud of the eighteen dark blue athletes who left everything on the water and raced for every inch. (1/2)
Today it was announced that The Boat Races are cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are bitterly disappointed, but minimising the spread of this virus has to be the number one priority.
On what would have been race day, here is the Blue Boat that would have raced Cambridge.

Today would have marked the first ever Third Eight’s race against Cambridge on the Tideway. Gutted it couldn’t happen, but looking forward to starting the tradition in 2021!
This Saturday marks our fixture against Oxford Brookes. The Wallingford Derby is second on our calendar only to the Boat Race and will provide a stern test for our crews.

On 19th December, OUBC held the annual Trial Eights race at Ely.
The race took place behind closed doors, in line with government regulations.
The crews were named Track and Trace to recognise the extraordinary work of our NHS. Track came out winners by 2 lengths.

The team has been spending its last days together before we go our separate ways. We would like to thank our alumni and all our dark blue fans for their support this year. It’s been a fantastic season and it’s a shame it has been cut short.
What a day! The Blue Boat has been announced, marking the final countdown to race day. We’re making steps forwards every day and we couldn’t be more excited.
In today’s Gemini Boat Race we will be wearing white ribbons to show our support for Rape Crisis England and Wales, and the White Ribbon Campaign.

The rowing machines have been packed away - it’s time to upgrade our land-training gym at the Iffley Road sports centre. Building work starting soon!

A successful weekend to start our racing season: the third eight won their category at Quintin Head and the prospective Blue Boat made a promising start with some good racing against Leander. Back to work this week, finding as much speed as we can for race day.
The Blue Boat picked to race Molesey tomorrow afternoon. A good block of training through Hilary Term has put the boat in good shape for their first test of fixture season. Race starts at 15:45.
Isis to be confirmed later today.
Nothing quite comes close to spending time on the water.
Now, more than ever, we’re grateful for our coaching team who have helped us make the most of the limited number of sessions we’ve had at Wallingford.

who have been nominated for the 2019 Thomas Keller medal by

- rowing’s highest award!
Trial Eights will take place tomorrow at 12:00. This is the squad’s opportunity to race side-by-side over the full Boat Race course from Putney to Mortlake in matched Eights. The two crews will be named Hurley and Burly after the RNLI lifeboat.
Huge thanks to Oxford Brookes for a day of great racing. Conditions were biblical at times, and the experience gained of battling such rough water was invaluable.
.
Both Isis and the Blue Boat secured one win each in their two pieces.
Our athletes are dreaming of rowing on beautiful mornings like this... The Blue Boat were trying out their new boat in early February. The squad is still gutted we never got to race. Stay safe during the lockdown.
Last weekend Felix became U23 World Champion in the GB eight. A fantastic way for Felix and our squad to finish the 2019 season, and we’re looking forward to what the next will bring.

One week left before the start of term and the team is coming together. Working hard on blending rowing styles and building fast combinations early on.
Our summer training group starts up next week, and we’re incredibly excited to see how we can build for Henley. With so many returners from this year’s squad, the build for 2020 starts now. Visit our website to get in contact about trialling next year (link in bio).
Our new eight has had its first rows at Wallingford! A huge thank you to the 1995 squad and our community of alumni for their support and commitment to the club.
OUBC is proud to announce that Augustin Wambersie has been named as the President for the 2019/20 campaign.
Augustin learnt to row at Botafogo Futebol e Regatas,
@botafogoremo
in Rio de Janeiro, before rowing for Belgium at the Junior World Championships in 2014. (1/3)
Huge congratulations to ‘16 and ‘17 Blue Boat four seat Joshua Bugajski for winning M2- at senior trials yesterday. Relentless determination and dedication over many years has got him there. Very proud.
As this years president, he has really taken the team on his back. While he might not look like it, Felix is one of the strongest rowers in the team and a force to be reckoned with. His fierce determination and approachable attitude make him a natural leader for our squad.
Thanks to
@leander_club
for great racing today! Some good rowing from both Isis and the Blue Boat: two weeks left to build for the big one.
@allmarkone
🥇 Henry Pearson, Isis ‘22, became a U23 World Champion on 29th July. He and his M4+ crew did it style, setting a new world record with a time of 06:02.90.

Two OUBC crews will be racing this weekend, with our third eight at
@TheQuintinHead
on Saturday, and the Blue Boat against
@Leander_Club
on Sunday. Looking forward to starting our racing season!
Two thirds of this year’s OUBC are Undergraduates, with the squad average age on Boat Race day at 21. We are proud to be represented by 12 colleges: OUBC recruits across the whole University so get in touch via our website if rowing in the Boat Race is something you aspire to.
SPARE PAIRS RACE 2022 - Win for Oxford!
Holden Eaton and Joseph Rosenfeld won their spare pairs race against Cambridge. See below for a race debrief. 1/2
Congratulations to Ollie Cook who has been picked for the GB M4- at the World Championships in Linz next week!
Three of the 2017 Blue Boat are racing, with Josh and Mike facing off in the M8+.
An enormous good luck from all of OUBC!
Blue Boat 2019 - Seven Seat - Charlie Buchanan
—
Charlie is a smooth rower and brings a fun yet mature atmosphere. He keeps the boat honest and is always pushing for a higher standard every day. Fiendishly strong and light as a feather, he brings positivity and hunger to the crew
More news from the US as Michael di Santo is named in the US 8+ for the World Championships in Austria. We’re looking forward to hear about the other American and British dark blues gunning for national selection this year.
Just three of the team that makes OUBC what it is. We’re proud to have received their coaching and support throughout the season and hope to do them proud on Sunday.
OUBC was out in force at this weekend’s GB trials, winning the BUCS small boats head and the U23 pairs trial:
16th Tobias Schroder and Felix Drinkall
18th Hal Frigaard and Charlie Buchanan
22nd Joe White and Luke Robinson
32nd Leo von Malaisé and Charlie Pearson

Missing out on the side-by-side action at BUCS Regatta this weekend, so here’s a look back at Trial Eights 2018. Incredibly proud of OULRC and OUWLRC tearing it up with heaps of medals.
