@Ad_Crucem @LutheranMac I'm not the one proposing an enormous expansion in government-compelled compliance for organizations. You're using a Synod-level (not congregational) issue as a crisis to justify the government to stick its nose where it doesn't belong.

@Ad_Crucem @LutheranMac So... Your thought is we need to solve a problem by having every congregation in the country publish detailed financials to the world. Rather than just to their members and supporters. There could be no unintended consequence of that. What makes this the best solution to what?

@Ad_Crucem @LutheranMac I appreciate your desire for transparency within the Synod, but I think there are other ways to do so that don't involve the IRS. For example, I would love for Districts to be expected to make their financials available to all congregations that are members WITHOUT formal reqst
