FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY 🇺🇬🇺🇬
I, OTIENO GEORGE VICTOR, today I go out there to march for my country. I've never been proud to be a Ugandan like I am today.
If I don't make it back, tell mum, granny, and my young sis, that I put up a good fight. A fight to make Uganda better for them.
FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY
It's beyond comprehension how this monster of a man can even have a family & sleep at night. He orchestrated the brutal torture I endured, leaving me unable to walk for days. He even had the audacity to tell me, to my face, that I was lucky he hadn't shot me dead.
UGANDANS RISE UP.
Tuesday is here, an opportunity for us to peacefully visualize our statement against corruption
Lets not allow those who've looted our country to mischaracterize us & define our future
UGANDA belongs to us ALL

What have you achieved so far by meeting with the Colonel,

There's no room for safe corridors with the oppressor.

Your condescending tone reveals more about you than it does about me. You dismiss our efforts as mere "hashtagging" while conveniently ignoring the years of organizing, mobilizing, & fighting for justice that have gone into this movement by different people.
The lesson I’m learning from you is that we should stop coddling our young people (newfound “revolutionaries”) and get them to think they will hashtag their way to freedom.
You want a Samora Moisés Machel/ Mandela/ Sankara moment without putting in the intellectual work.

You seem to have forgotten that revolutions aren't built on intellectualism alone. They're fueled by a collective will of the people, their courage, resilience, & unwavering belief in a better future. We may not have PhDs in revolution, but we understand the pain of oppression.
And even if I were the leader of this noble cause (which I am not, and wouldn't be a problem if I was), why then did you seemingly try to lobby me to your oppressors with cowardly threats?
1. I will enlighten you a bit about the laws of our country. We went to police, not to negotiate a "safe corridor", but to fulfill our constitutional obligation as peaceful protesters to notify the authorities. You seem to have missed that fundamental point entirely.
Out of respect, dear church leaders. Having failed your role as spiritual leaders to speak against the evils in our country

We're building a movement for change, a movement that is grounded in the needs & aspirations of the people. We'll not be lectured on the value of our struggle by those who've never truly understood the weight of oppression.
And while you lecture us about "intellectual work," you conveniently forget that your hero, Museveni, wasn't a lone wolf. He was part of a movement, a collective effort, that fought for liberation. He didn't achieve this alone, he was part of a struggle, a struggle he betrayed.
First of all, I'm not your 'muzzukulu.'
It seems you've conveniently forgotten that the very vices you fought against in 1986, which brought you to power, are now rampant. We, the young people of Uganda, implore you to step down, along with your corrupt-garbage government.
Yesterday, I took the opportunity to address the Bazzukulu on the occasion to mark the International Youth Day in Soroti district. I outlined 18 points they should adhere to in order to live productively.
I was inspired by the youth leaders who joined us on a journey to SDGs & their future dreams. The YOUNITE experience was truly amazing! We intend to join hands with everyone who believes that we can make a difference in the world.
