A few things, Speaking as someone who has experienced it - 1. Generally H1Bs do not get paid lower - a guy on my team was paid highest and he is on an H1B. People who have graduated from the states know what salaries to negotiate for. I can’t speak for someone who comes in directly from overseas. 2. Getting a degree doesn’t guarantee you a job - the bar for working at FAANG or Tesla is so much higher for instance. I’m an immigrant - I’d love to work for Tesla, but I was passed on after 5 rounds of interviews. Nobody is getting freebies - besides software jobs are done for. AI is eating up a lot of entry to senior level roles. There is a dearth of top level engineers in this country simply because the population is that much lower than say china and the world’s biggest companies are here. America needs more people. People say AI will replace H1Bs but I think the opposite will happen - they’ll need more people who can leverage AI to increase productivity. 3. H1Bs were also layed off in the tech industry over the last 2 years. I also know top notch American co workers who had no problem getting an offer. Companies will always prefer to hire American over a foreign national simply because the immigration approval costs a lot more, time consuming and unpredictable with more risks. If they end up hiring a foreign national - it might just be the case that the person was a better fit for the job. There has been a lot of fake news circulated around on this topic (same as any on this site) by the hard MAGA base which is far from the truth and is littered with fake numbers. I promise reality is different, it’s much more harder for a foreign national to be employed than an American. That being said, do some people game the system? Yes, does the govt act to combat it? Yes, but very slow. I myself have reported folks engaged in fraud. Is it large percentage? I do not believe it is. If you are good enough, you will land a job, if not, improve, find out what people who are able to are doing. Law of nature.

Agree. Also, the best way to fight off this Indian racism is to ignore. The woke right thrive off attention and a conceived enemy to battle - don’t fight back, ignore - watch them self implode cos they all hate each other as well. No outrage, no enemy to fight or get engagement and they’ll turn on themselves. My two cents.

Same on TikTok - Bangladeshi morons running a very effective smear campaign. When India has been a stabilizing force in their country for the past 4decades. These videos have a Bollywood song in the background too to make it seem Indian.
Rednote is just full of Bangladeshi street food videos labelled as Indian. Literally thousands of such videos. Bangladesh have a massive role in damaging Indian pr.
