This is my first true competitive map, which I hope turned out pretty okay. One of the challenges was to do this map wo any 3rd party 3d software, and I'm glad that Hammer gives a lot of flexibility!

Looks like Counter-Strike 2 will support in-game workshop map subscription and direct download. Hopefully in the future we will get similar system of community content like in Dota 2. It'll be awesome to get dedicated workshop tab 😳

Sooo... I am working on next procedural generated map for
@CSGO
, but... It's with 1 BOMB scenario(Wingman), so it's a bit bigger than just some buildings formed in one single boxed arena. A lot of things to do, especially to make it somehow balanced. I like how progress is going.

Back to scripting in

, I decided to rewrite facade generation script from scratch and now I can generate whole buildings with roofs, gutters, extensions, blends, etc.
In collaboration with
@scope_gg
, we tried to make something a bit unique! New
@CSGO
training map: every run is generated, bots are strafing and trying to avoid the player, and you have to move shoot simultaneously.
Some team submission stickers and signatures for
@CSGO
were reuploaded by their creators, like this one for Boombl4 - , also there are entries for NAF, h0bbit, Team spr0ut etc.
So despite rumors about no autographs, looks like we'll get them anyway.
One of the final things to do was to remade banner. The funniest thing is, I didn't want to use any 3rd party 3d modeling tools for this map, so I cheated: I took a flag with existing vertex animation data and turned it into the banner using scaling and custom material.

, will there be "better tools" for making map radars? I don't want to redraw it every small update. cs_minimap_boundary entity is cool and all, but it's not enough and simply doesn't work as it should.

Since the future of Rogue is unknown, I think it is time... DUST TIME! I decided to try creating other sort of content for
@CounterStrike
, and now here it is: a new sticker! All sorts of variants: Paper, Glitter, Foil and Holo.
I'm speechless. Are the numbers correct? 300k of subscribers, and I believe most of them were into Rogue and other generated maps... Thanks guys, huge props to everyone. I am honored and sad at the same time, cause now it's all gone...

Well, this was a year ago. Didn't think that cs2 would change my plans, but 23 was kinda productive. I released Rogue as it is, I made my first comp wingman map. Even did some silly stickers and skins. Don't have any plans for 24, but who knows. I hope something good awaits us...
Earlier I wanted to finish what I planned at the end of 2022, but man, doing stuff is hard for me. I really do hope to show something interesting and unique for

Inferno has unbreakable statues around the map, but in game files there is a breakable one, which I think is not in any of the maps. Might not be included anywhere because of religious theme or because of prop_physics lit not well as static

Btw, looks like the C4 "wallhack" in
@CSGO
has been fixed by adding a new material parameter force_draw_in_override to player_visibility_datacolor.vmt and updated C4 worldmodel. Can someone confirm that bug is gone?

Case Simulator. You can create your own case for a giveaway or just for fun. Not sure if it's needed for anyone, made it just cause it was in the flash version of CaseSim and I was tired of hammer.

It may happen sometimes. If you play on Linux or Steam Deck it will happen all the time, making the map unplayable. I hope I can find a fix asap.
Tried to remember what I did to get data for heatmaps. My code is a mess but somehow I managed it to work. There is the result of what I got for the new awesome DZ map - Vineyard. Item spawns and player spawns grid. Interactive map version here:

! I feel like I can teach people something useful as well. Pressing "F9" + "Enter" while in Hammer improves your chances of compiling a map.
My friends made * very * actual map inspired by Squid Game with custom models, animations and scripts, including almost all interesting challenges from the original series. Coming very soon!
I just found out wear mask for stickers is flipped in
@CounterStrike
. If you were making wear masks like it was in CSGO, you probably want to update it.
