Here is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, speaking about implications of the dismissal of Governor Fubara’s appeal against the Appeal Court judgment declaring illegal, his presentation of the 2024 to a House of Assembly other than the one led by Martins Amaewhule. One Baseless Online Lawyer has been jumping up and down on Social Media, giving his usual online jaundiced interpretation. Sebi if to say him do real real law, dem for include him as part of Fubara’s legal team. 😂😂😂😂

Rivers community deserted as cultists kill 19 residents No fewer than 19 people were feared killed in a renewed cult clash in Obelle Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday. The development has sparked panic in the area as residents have deserted the community for safety. It would be recalled that on Wednesday, unidentified gunmen believed to be members of a cult group invaded the community and killed seven people. While the community was still reeling in the pain of the incident, on Sunday morning, the two cult groups in the area resumed their battle for supremacy after over two years of vacation. It was gathered that the supremacy battle on Sunday was between the Deybam and Icelanders cult groups. Our correspondent learnt that after the Wednesday killing, the group whose members were killed on Sunday invaded Obelle community and started attacking relatives of those perceived to be part of the cult group that earlier killed seven people. A source in the area, who gave his name simply as Kingsley, alleged that it was while the group who lost their members on Wednesday was operating that the rivals arrived. Kingsley said, “On Sunday, cultists clashed in our community. Many people have been killed. Innocent people were killed. The shooting was too much and the people started leaving the community. About 19 people have been killed. “On Sunday morning, some cultists came out and started shooting. They were attacking relatives of the people they said were members of the gang that killed their members. It did not take time, the other group came out. They started shooting themselves. People from the two groups also died. “We are calling on the government to come to our aid. These cults are trying to scatter the people we have in this community. We want the police and army to help us.” When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying the clash was linked to levies from an oil company in the area, saying the number of casualty was 10. She stated, “It is a cult clash between loyalists of Naked Wire and Carol. They are fighting over the control of levies from an oil company operative in the area. “About 10 confirmed dead. No arrest yet, but investigation is ongoing.”

We’ve engaged over 3,000 residents in Abuja Bus Terminal Projects – Project Manager The ongoing construction of three bus and taxi terminals in Abuja, initiated by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has created employment opportunities for over 3,000 residents. This is according to Mr. Rasheed Sholadoye, the Project Manager of Planet Projects, the company executing the terminals. It would be recalled that in July 2024, Minister Wike inaugurated the construction of the terminals at three strategic locations: Mabushi, Central Area, and Kugbo. The initiative aims to enhance the transportation system within the FCT by providing secure and efficient travel hubs while also generating job opportunities for residents. Mr. Sholadoye, speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stated that the workforce comprises both skilled and unskilled artisans, as well as security personnel. He emphasized that part of the contract conditions mandated the employment of Abuja residents, aligning with the FCT Administration’s job creation strategy. “FCT residents have enjoyed enormously from this project. We have employed a whole lot of them,” Sholadoye said. “It’s difficult to give you an exact number but more than 3,000 residents have been engaged and more will be employed as the work progresses,” Progress and Challenges Sholadoye noted that construction at the Mabushi and Kugbo sites commenced in July 2024, while work at the Central Area terminal began two months later due to the need to relocate underground facilities near Eagle Square. Despite the delay, he reassured that the projects remain on schedule. “Mabushi terminal is now 92% complete, Kugbo terminal is at 85%, and the Central Area terminal is at about 50% completion,” he stated. Project Completion Timeline and Features Providing an update on the completion timeline, Sholadoye expressed confidence that the Mabushi and Kugbo terminals would be ready for inauguration by the end of February 2025, while the Central Area terminal is expected to be completed by May 2025. “These terminals are not just about transportation; they are designed to integrate commercial activities. Each terminal will feature modern amenities, including cinema halls where commuters can relax while waiting for their buses,” he added. He further highlighted that the Central Area terminal would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, making it a landmark that Abuja residents would be proud of. In May 2024, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N96 billion for the construction of bus terminals and other transportation facilities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The cost covers the construction of the court of appeal in the nation’s capital, the provision of security operations and maintenance of backup generator for the street lights along the presidential routes and villa gate 8, as well as the upgrade of roads in the Kwali area council.

Saudi Arabia restricts multiple-entry visas for Nigeria, 13 other countries Saudi Arabia has introduced new visa regulations that will impact travelers from 14 countries, restricting them to single-entry visas valid for 30 days with no option for extension. The changes apply to tourists, business travelers, and those visiting family members, while excluding applicants for Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas. The new regulations target travellers from the following nations: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen. Saudi authorities have cited the misuse of multiple-entry visas as a key reason for the policy shift, noting that some travelers used long-term visas to stay in the country illegally or participate in Hajj without proper authorization.
