RT @C1aranMurray: Some great private feedback on this. Appreciated. Plan is to: 1. Code this up in Cairo and run a Bayesian Truth Serum…

💠In the future, everyone will have a chance to contribute to the narrative and play a key role in shaping it. The rise of new #AI technologies is breaking boundaries (looking at you @deepseek_ai) leaving traditional Western models behind in terms of profitability and usability. Recent developments, such as the TikTok ban and the explosive growth of the creator economy in China, are signs of a significant shift. The U.S. and China are clearly in a race for technological dominance. While the U.S. has long been the leader in tech innovation, recent events have made people question digital freedom and the opportunities available to people. Meanwhile, China is surging ahead: 🔹Unlimited innovation 🔹Growth in social commerce 🔹Expanding global influence in tech China’s advancements are offering a peek into the future for us all. The creator economy is not just a trend—it’s a reality, and more people should embrace it.

@krisoshea1 @C1aranMurray @PTetlock This is just the start. The work we’re putting in is paying off, and it’s great to see it getting the recognition it deserves. Exciting times ahead!

@imSurajKohli @PTetlock @C1aranMurray This is just the beginning. What we’re building is worth the effort, and it’s great to see it getting the validation it deserves. Big things ahead! 🔥

Our team has been working on a new system for scoring media opinion articles, a core pillar of our protocol. In his latest forum post, @C1aranMurray breaks down how prediction markets + forecasting science can incentivize honest assessments and reward insights. Read & share your thoughts 👇
I've been working on a system for scoring media opinion articles (the overarching opinion rather than line-by-line fact checking, etc). It is based on discoveries in survey and prediction science through the work of people such as @PTetlock, @dprelec, @marrrcellin, @HowePiers, @PavelDAtanasov among others. There are two distinct and independent parts to the system. We score the article itself via the first part (even in the absence of a verifiable event or ground truth). The second is a modified Bayesian Truth Serum for scoring individual respondents, adapted for continuous probabilities with some refinements to remain robust at low n. The distinction is crucial as if we scored bettors via their proximity to the aggregate, the market would devolve into a Keynesian Beauty Contest with no verifiable event to vindicate insightful contrarians and give a poor signal. The combination enables us to recreate the incentives found in markets with near-term verifiable outcomes and settle within 2 weeks ensuring a reasonable payout timeframe for the writer. Would be interested to hear feedback from people with an interest in this stuff. @franklyteddy, @TheDevanshMehta, @VitalikButerin, @ArthurB, @_Dave__White_, @robinhanson

Latest mechanisms for opinion articles. Very different setup to news and academic publishing markets.

Exactly why decentralized social platforms matter. No single entity should have the power to erase years of work without recourse. Beyond just hosting content, the next step is ensuring information remains censorship-resistant & verifiable. OLAS is working on that. Have you explored decentralized media protocols?

🔹To avoid external influence and ensure no third party can dictate outcomes on the platform. 🔹The Olas token will fund the platform fairly, rewarding creators and contributors. This creates a self-sustaining ecosystem where value is made of community participation. 🔹Blockchain is ownerless, enabling readers and creators to use micropayments and donations without intermediaries. Our ultimate goal is a stable, scalable currency tied to real economic activity, such as donations and tips.

@abarmat So in decentralized media, the challenge isn’t just indexing-it's ensuring tamper-proof provenance without central gatekeepers. That’s what we’re tackling at OLAS: open, verifiable, and censorship-resistant journalism. We would like to know your take on this intersection?

@RSF_inter @EU_Commission @vonderleyen @EUCssrMcGrath For us, decentralization can be part of the solution. Instead of relying on regulatory bodies that are prone to political influence, we are building a protocol where journalists and communities, not governments or corporate entities, ensure media integrity.

@rLoopDAO Solid list! SocialFi isn’t just about monetization-decentralized trust & credibility will be just as critical. How do we ensure these platforms aren’t overrun by misinformation & engagement farming? Web3 needs new models for truth verification.

@HouseofZK @vanishree_rao @fermah_xyz A ZK-powered press-where sources remain private, credibility is provable, and censorship is impossible. Is this utopian, or inevitable? We might be closer than we think.

Google and Meta aren't just building apps anymore. They're racing to connect the world's most remote corners to the internet. Sounds noble, right? But here's a catch: When you own the highways, you control the traffic. These tech giants are becoming the architects of our digital infrastructure. They decide how data flows, who gets fast lanes, and who hits roadblocks. What about small players? They're just trying to hitch a ride. Think about this: In remote regions desperate for connection, these companies are the only game in town. No regulators, no competition. Just Big Tech writing their own rules in places too grateful for internet access to ask questions. Imagine playing chess against someone who can see every move on every board in the world. That's what happens when you control the pipes - you see all the data flowing through them. How do you compete with someone who knows the game before it's played? The internet was meant to be an open road, not a private highway. While we're celebrating getting everyone online (which we should!), we should ask: at what cost? The future of free information might depend on who owns the streets it travels on. Time to start paying attention.
