Let's talk about
#Starship
's Tiles!
These tiles are apart of Starship's heat shield which is used to protect Starship from the intense heating of reentry. Starship has about ~18,000 of these tiles. A Lot of these tiles have different shapes especially on the nosecone.

The tiles are made up of aluminum and silica fibers.
They are attached to the Ship's body using pins to hold the tile in place.
There is a layer of white insulation material before the tile, to help dissipate the heat more before it reaches the metal of the ship.

Recently
#SpaceX
started to remove some of the tiles on Ship 30 to add an ablative material layer underneath that replaces the white insulation material. After that, they will add new tiles which are 2x stronger than the original.

The removal of all of Starship 30's heatshield tiles has begun.

Also this ablative material is not reusable and likely has to be swapped out for each flight.

The amount of effort a artist put's into his own work... and the artist deserves to be credit for it. Even removing the watermark... Why would anyone do This? It's not common sense at all lol.

Wow. Just watched the replay. Looked like a normal landing until the last second before touchdown. Insane to think that this actually happened.
After a successful ascent, Falcon 9's first stage booster tipped over following touchdown on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship. Teams are assessing the booster's flight data and status. This was the booster's 23rd launch.
