@charliermarsh I understand your reasons for this but I wasn't saying to create a `pyproject.toml`, rather just create a structure for a package which OOTB provides `__main__.py` functionality/naming and, critically, provides a place to put code.

@AmandaAskell Not the models but regarding UI I wish responses didn't automatically trigger scroll behavior and would stop when the first line reached the top just like Gemini and ChatGPT. It's quite frustrating to always have to scroll back up immediately (although kudos for inference speed).

@charliermarsh Kinda true, the resultant software will be terrible and "cracked" in the literal sense.

Huge thanks to the AWS Open Source Software Fund @AWSOpen for sponsoring my continued work on Python packaging (I assume mostly for Hatch & Hatchling)!!! Acts like this and the initiative @getsentry started increase my optimism for the future of OSS 🫡

@charliermarsh Nice! This is why I rejected the idea to enforce the metadata must be on top of the file because I was imagining embedded lock files (1000+ lines) which would be better on the bottom of the script.

@willmcgugan @charliermarsh Although the JSON API data is cached as Steve said, I always prefer parsing the latest version using the HTML API which returns much less data

@charliermarsh Have you tried Greptile? I find the summaries and review comments to be quite good since it has knowledge of the entire code base. It's free for open source as far as I know.

@charliermarsh I share your sentiment, building can be rough. Zig basically solves this but it's not well known.

@willmcgugan I would recommend lazily defining constants like that so import time is not affected, especially since that is critical for command line applications. See PEP 562
