The Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail is closed between Mosier and Hood River due to a ground fire near an old dumping area, which could release toxic smoke. Please avoid this closed area. You can still enjoy the section between the Wyeth trailhead and Viento State Park

Ecola State Park will be closed this evening through late afternoon on Aug. 15 for asphalt patch installation on the Indian Beach road section. Full closure is necessary for safety due to equipment moving along the narrow road. The park will reopen when repairs are complete.

Trails within Collier Memorial State Park are temporarily closed because of winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Fire damaged trees have snapped in the area and the trails are closed as a safety precaution.

Jan. 9, 2004: Ecola State Park is temporarily closed because of downed trees and high winds. Park staff will clear debris when the weather calms and it's safe to do so. The goal is to reopen Jan. 10 if conditions allow.
