Increased fire activity on northern flank has led to growth towards the north. The fire has crossed Komie Road, closing both Komie & SYD roads. Expect heightened fire activity tomorrow due to high temperatures.

Planned BC Hydro Power Outages in January
BC Hydro has scheduled some lengthy outages (8-9 hours) this month. We have reached out to them with our concerns about long outages during such a cold month. We'll let you know when we have more information.

If you're driving over the Muskwa Bridge today or tomorrow between 8 am - 5 pm, Northern Rockies Fire Rescue is conducting Swift Water Rescue Training. This is an exercise - they do not require rescuing... 💦 ☂️
Northwestel reports that they are experiencing a major network outage that is impacting landline service in Northern BC and Whitehorse. They are working hard to locate and remedy the issue. At this time there is no estimate of when service will be resumed.
Northwestel has advised that they will be conducting network upgrades in Fort Nelson, BC.that will affect landline phone service, DSL, 911, long-distance calling and Bell Mobility. The outage is planned for April 2, 11:30 p.m. to April 3, 6:00 a.m.

There have been several schedules provided by the Tereus (DGS Paving) to complete the downtown asphalt this season. Unfortunately, the contractor has experienced several delays. Currently paving is scheduled to commence the first week of October 2023.
