At NWT Hickling Broad, staff often discover great tits nesting in odd places – the letter box, roof of a tractor & even the scrap metal bin! 🚜 This year it was a traffic cone, which was then coned off to protect the nest 🚧 Five chicks successfully fledged 🐥🐥

The first sighting of the year took place on 6 May. This is early for swallowtails, and we wouldn't usually expect them until 15 May, with last year's arriving on 29 May 🦋
