Actually, @AlexandriaVAGov received $24 million in @USDOT grants for 13 electric buses… It then received the separate $1,000,000 grant for a single electric bus charging station So $25 million total for buses, chargers, and training Previously, Alexandria benefitted from $5 million for electric buses, paid for by @VW Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust (VW Trust), and statewide transit capital funding. Virginia received the VW Trust as part of its emissions violation settlement with Volkswagen… the German car company that sold millions of diesel cars as more efficient… only to have that “green” scandal busted when they were found to be cheating with digital software.
