In 2018 I raced the Wanamaker Mile as a college senior, proudly wearing Arkansas across my chest. Last Spring Arkansas banned gender affirming heath care for trans youth. Today I’ll run the same race, 4 years later, with a message on my chest to a state I was once proud to wear.

When I was 19 I came out about my sexuality. Yesterday at 26 I came out about my gender identity. There’s nothing like the morning after coming out. This morning there are nerves, excitement and a heart full of gratitude. All I can say is thank you, it feels so good to be seen.

Last night I qualified for my 7th straight US 1500 final. I’ve seen many ways this race is run and I truly believe I’m ready for anything on Sunday! . This is a DEEP 1500 final. A rising tide lifts all boats and this field has risen to an epic level! Excited, grateful, ready 🙏

I hate it here. Peacock literally charges $5.99 a month for access to sports, news, and 900+ TV shows and movies. Imagine having the audacity to charge $29.99 a month for some mediocre track and field coverage… like at least add The Office to your package or something 😭.

Been trying to break the 2 minute barrier ever since I ran 2:01 at the Bryan Clay Invite 4 years ago. Yesterday I didn’t think about the clock, I just tried to completely focus on racing!. Success = competing for every place until the line, time/place are outcomes of competing🙏.

This is so real. Some of my best races I’ve been in the call room so mentally drained and going out and racing is the last thing I want to go do. Hats off to Hobbs for executing a great race despite fighting some demons and more importantly for being vulnerable and sharing 🙏.

Despite both being queer, having decent kicks, and sharing Smith as a coach, Nico and I are very different and I think that’s incredible for queer representation. There’s no one or right way to be an LGBTQ+ runner. You can be loud and proud or quiet and confident. Both are valid.
