The past few days, I achieved some incredible feats: I not only became the first person to get an 8-4 IL TAS tie more than once, but I also got a THIRD 8-4 IL TAS tie on the OG ROM! I've never been able to say this without joking, but a 4:54.265 Any% may just happen some day.

What is life???? I just got 4:54.914 2nd Quest WR on the first day of attempts, and I got THE 1ST EVER MID 4:54 WITH LIGHTNING 4-2 PAST PL8-1 IN THE 9 JOKE ATTEMPTS AFTER IN SQ. I killed the run on purpose after getting blant bc no way I am about to bop Any% WR in SQ, but WHAT???

Today is one of the most insane days the SMB1 community has seen in a while. Not one, but TWO new 4:54s have been achieved today: 4:54.864 by Tree_05 and 4:54.964 by jscarbo99! We've now reached a new era where Top 5 is all 4:54s! Stoked to see what the near future has to offer!

We did something huge today! I am now the first human to ever get the Lightning / TAS 4-2 framerule! This took about half a year of grinding on and off, so I am extremely happy to be able to say I got it!

About a week ago, I achieved another one of my 2024 goals by getting a 4:54.332 from the start of 4-2! This run is only 4 frames off of the No L+R TAS (with an 8-A speed 8-4) and it was done from mid game. Link in replies if you want to see this run ↓↓↓

I have been burnt out on SMB1 for a good bit now, and unfortunately I think I need a slightly more extended break in order to get gather my motivation back. I've also been doing other stuff recently, and I'm still trying to figure out a balance with speedrunning and those things.

Yesterday, I broke a new second barrier in SMB1 Warpless with a new WR of 18:55.929! This run incorporates some new framerule saves over my 18:56, including 3-3 FPG double framerule save and 4-4 noslowdown kill! YouTube premiere will be starting shortly!

WE GOT 7:52.721 ON OUR FIRST SESSION EVER! This run is basically everything I've ever wanted in this category. I'll definitely go for 7:51 eventually, I had a run same session -1.0 ahead of my 7:52 into 4-4 that barely failed clip! Taking break for now tho

We got the final second barrier today in Minus World Ending with a new WR of 2:30.802! 8/9 of my 2021 SMB1 goals are now completed. All that is left is Blindfolded WR!

yesterday, I became the second person to get TAS Tie / maxout 8-4 IL! This is a perfect 8-4 run, and it cannot be beaten without L+R by TAS or human unless a new timesave is found! This also ties my sum of best with the no L+R TAS with a 4:54.265.

7:51.956 SMB2J WR has been achieved! This run features a few more framerule saves over my former world record of 7:52.721, including an extra 1-2 framerule, 4-3 FPG double framerule save, and h8-1 framerule save! I have now tackled 10/15 of my 2022 goals!

Good news, my AC is now fixed! Mid 4:54 Any% attempts will resume probably next Monday though, I am going to be practicing for the Peercast tournament this Saturday by doing 11x Any% WR attempts.
I am unfortunately having to put the Mid 4:54 Any% grind on pause once again due to my god awful ac unit breaking again. This happened a week ago and was the main reason why I didn't instantly start attempts, and now of course it happens right when I make incredible progress.

Yesterday, I improved my WR in Minus World Ending by exactly .1 seconds with a 2:30.219! This run features fast accel in -3 on top of the fastest clip done in a WR yet, making it a whopping 7 frames away from the No L+R TAS!

We lowered the human SoB yet again! 8-B 8-4 IL WR! This time is 3 frames off the no L+R TAS's 8-4. 3/9 goals of my 2021 goals list are now completed, and 2/12 of this year has gone by. I'm on pace for accomplishing all of my goals by half of this year!

Earlier today, I did something huge! 55.575 SMB2J 8-4 IL WR! The reason this is so monumental is because I tied the no L+R TAS of this category, and this WR will never be untied unless a new timesave is found. SMB1 8-D next up!

Yesterday, I completed ALL 9 of my 2021 goals by setting a new BLINDFOLDED WR! I grinded out late game consistently for a few weeks, and the very first session in just 13 attempts, I clutched it out first run past 8-1!

PACE this week was 100% one of the most fun weeks of my entire life, so much that going back home feels a bit depressing. It was such an incredible experience meeting everyone I know online. I really hope to see all of you awesome people again someday, you guys are the best! :)

I forgot to tweet this out earlier, but today I got 11x Any% WR with a 55:24! The thing that is so special about this run is that I got all sub 5s, with 7 4:58s and 4 4:59s! That was another one of my 2021 goals, now making 6/9 2021 goals accomplished!

I'd like to throw my two cents in and say that these comments are far from cool. Many top runners (including myself) have experienced this, and nobody deserves to have comments about their hard earned achievements discredited just because it isn't the current world record anymore
Just an FYI if you watch someone beat a WR that someone else spent a lot of time on and was proud of and you're like "EZ WR" or "free WR" (especially when it clearly wasn't), you make the other person feel like shit and it's a real dick move. Don't do that. Rant over.

it absolutely would be a brutal grind. however, i still believe that i have the ability to cut down on something like 1/350 and increase that consistency by a lot if i grinded Any% nonstop. i also believe that if i did the same with 8-4, i could get more consistent with TAS ties.

Another 2022 goal crossed off of the list, this time in Glitchless! Not only was this WR literally done FIRST try, but it also includes the glitchless lightning 4-2 framerule, and this run was the first to ever save it in a run. Video premiering soon!

Today, we broke the 24.7xx barrier in 1-1 as fire mario with a new WR of 24.659! This saved 4 frames over my former WR, specifically on the mushroom grab. We now have 4 out of 9 of our 2021 goals completed!

Well, this really sucks. After over 24 hours of troubleshooting with multiple people helping me out, I have come to the conclusion that my brand new computer is simply unable to run Nestopia and other emulators smoothly whatsoever. Back to my old PC I go I guess... ☹

Best 2J session I've ever had in my life, hands down! 158 runs, 57 runs out of 1-1, 10 got past world 4, and 2 got to 8-4! All on 7:53.5xx WR pace! That makes 4 runs in total to 8-4. I promise, this is happening VERY soon.

With that being said, I plan on making a full return to the daily 4:54 grind tomorrow. 4:54 is the main goal, but one of my primary focuses is gonna be to KEEP POSITIVE VIBES. I slip up & get irritated sometimes, & this is something I’m now gonna work on changing. Love you all 💙

Over the past few weeks, I've been saving difficult warpless framerules to lower the human SoB. I am happy to say that I've pushed it down to the 18:3x range, the last tens second barrier! This video showcases all of the timesaves in a spliced run.

Today, I crossed another 2022 goal off the list with 2 new Minus World Ending WRs in a day: 2:30.402 and 2:30.319! These runs tie the L+R TAS into -3. All framerules have now been saved, and the only way to improve this category now is through -3 frames!
