Or its variant that seems to imply a call to reason: E.g. “As a country faced with intermittent food deficits and quality challenges, we urge for sobriety, especially among political leaders, some of whom have made untrue and irresponsible statements to mislead the public.” 🔗👇🏾
I think this is an example of how NOT to address sociocultural concerns. The GMO debate is at the core about life and livelihoods, culture, our relation to ecology. Responding in this bland, technical way reinforces the impetus to challenge “expertise”.🤷🏾♀️

Also,👇🏾 is likely why we won’t have truly walkable cities (Nairobi especially) any time soon. Road maintenance is about cars and nduthis, because taxes can be piled on. With over 70% of Nairobians walking to work as is, imagine how many would in a pedestrian and PwD-friendly mobility ecosystem! 😮💨
No radical plans, just more taxes, without even accounting for how the hefty ones wrt roads are utilised.

“The sale of petrol and diesel continues to decrease as demand for cheaper, more fuel-efficient cars, and electric vehicles increases. If the government continues to struggle with already strained budgets while the private sector moves away from gasoline-powered vehicles, the condition of the road infrastructure will continue to deteriorate.”
