HEADS UP: Reports that the LRT has lost power to all stops between Waterloo Town Square and Conestoga Mall. Trains are not moving beyond Uptown Waterloo.
We're hearing reports from several *401 callers of a large fire in Kitchener in the Grand View Woods North area just west of Sportworld.
That fire is creating a visual distraction / smoke for traffic on HWY 8 through the area of the Grand River.

However, the WB 401 on-ramp from Franklin remains CLOSED at this time.
The water main break is still ongoing in Cambridge at Grand Ave and Water St S. Avoid the area if you can, unless you're looking for a free car wash.

JUST IN: The Ministry of Transportation has announced that HWY 401 will be completely CLOSED between HWY 6 N and HWY 6 S starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday. EB and WB 401 lanes are set to reopen Sunday morning at 7 a.m. Major delays are expected.
Police reporting no collisions on city streets. It seems everyone is still nestled in their beds, with visions of sugar plums dancing through their heads.

As an FYI, Arthur Street/Hwy 85 is REOPENED between Elmira and St. Jacobs for your morning commute.

stated previously, but instead a rolling lane closures from King St E/Shantz Hill to Franklin Blvd. Work will be done one lane/one direction at a time from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, expect delays.

MTO says it will be closing all EB & WB lanes on the 401 from King St E/Shantz Hill through to Franklin Blvd starting at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance.
Expect extensive delays and plan an alternate route throughout the duration of the closure.

A full closure of Arthur Street South starts today for CN Rail work at the tracks.
Arthur will be closed starting today through to Friday from the St Jacobs roundabout to Listowel Road in Elmira.

In Cambridge, Fountain Street is CLOSED from Shantz Hill to King to prepare for demolition of the Preston Springs Hotel. A spokesperson with the City of Cambridge says, "It is expected to start later this afternoon or tomorrow. The intersection will be closed for next few days."
The blowing snow is creating poor visibility for drivers on the roadways and highways. A reminder to stay alert, slow down and make sure your vehicles full lighting system is on.
