Tembeka was attending imigidi during this December with us as a villager in the former Transkei. Eating meat and gifting rural children with Xmas gifts. Few weeks later he is at The Hague before an international court arguing what’s been described as a compelling case. Inspiring!

Lawyers arguably have one of the best intellectually stimulating jobs. We finished a trial where the dispute was between the expert opinions of obstetricians on a bacterial infection and its casual effect on a pregnancy complication. I learnt so much and will get paid for it.

Hopefully professional bodies such as the LPC, BLA, GCB etc will collectively condemn the arrest of a lawyer whilst robbed and representing his client inside a court room. Warrants of arrest aren’t a license to abuse power.

Judgment was granted in our favor. I’m only the representative. 😅 What a lovely feeling. It was motion court, our former Dean was also doing admissions which included his former student. She was so happy about it. He gave her personal words of affirmation and encouragement. ☺️

Listening to a spaces talk on the legal profession. I (personally!) don’t like how we in still fear about our career paths. We giving too much information to people who also deserve an innocent experience. We are where we are out of belief. Let’s allow the same space for others.

When asked for free legal advice I now now share links that I get from a google search and make the person read it. Reliable legal information is so widely available on the internet. At least start there. Do your research. Do something. If you lazy or it's too important, pay.

Our criminal justice is being exposed for being anti-poor, again. It’s the poor that will be hurdled to prison and appear before our Courts to explain why they were in possession of alcohol. I hope our Judges will have the consciousness to not turn poverty into a crime.

Adv Ka-Siboto says the ‘kill the broer’ case he did for the EFF was his 1st trial and at third year. He goes to explain it started with Julius visiting him after he watched him in a prev matter he appeared in. Julius had so faith in him he came with more work. Intle Malema! 👏🏾
