@cannula_service When the police get involved (which they will do at some point as prescribing etc are criminal offences) maybe then the relevant people will take notice, I'm not sure.

@MartinKnight_ Personally, I think it's a load of b***. It's an excuse to replace humans for free labour and maximum profit. If I am wrong about that, they know something we don't.

@Sandford_Police A push for new or altered regulations, or even a further amendment of the guidance, would not survive a JR. Why?. Because even secondary law which does not comply with those core principles of law can be (and have been many times before) struck down.

Society is not nice towards parents. The work life / family life balance is swayed towards working hours instead of family life. Yes, some can access child care etc, yes there are maternity and paternity rights to leave etc, but in grand scheme of all of those years of child development, are these rights and entitlements really enough to make sure child spends enough time and bonds with parents during these vital years?. In that respect, along with other factors, it's sadly why alot of people are deciding not to have children at all. Contrast that with 1946+ baby boom. 😆

@remmy_308 @Protect_ServeUK If you start at the proposition that anyone can accuse anyone of anything, that is the only fair way really.

@ReasonableCop @N0TINSERVICE @RadioSilence105 It comes down to avoidance of arbitrary decision making, and ensuring fairness. In this case, common law, art 6 / art 8.

It means the budget for ACU/PSD will have to increase if forces want them to lawfully use the powers they already have to investigate alleged criminal offences (internally) and to keep themselves in scope of ripa. Plenty of cases where it has fell out of scope, the met holiday case, gmp dpa/holiday case etc - push would have to be towards criminal matters.
