I have no idea who Mac Suzuki is but why tf does he have the second best SIERA of all time? This is a thread about the most pointless weirdest stupidest baseball question I’ve ever spent hours of my life trying to answer

I have Olerud (22), Hernandez (24), Mattingly (31), and Clark (34) above my HOF line with Grace not super far off (64) Bill Buckner is down at the 170th best 1B mark tho

Drop whatever you’re doing, folks Here’s a fascinating six-way comp of some non-HOF first basemen in the high BA / lower HR / good defense mold (as opposed to your traditional Stretch McCovey-esque power merchants) Observations: • Keith & Donnie have the most accolades • Only Grace doesn’t lead this group in any single category, either in the stats portion or the awards/accolades portion • Buckner trails the others in WAR by miles and miles despite having the longevity, counting stats, and twice as many steals as the next guy • Will Clark was an unbelievable hitter, probably even better than you remember • Every single one of these guys is underrated

First of all, Jeter is better Second of all, he played a decade more recently than Larkin Third, people definitely know and care about Hall of Famer Barry Larkin

@fuzzyfromyt Jeter is probably the most overrated player in the history of MLB If it wasn’t for lucking into playing in NY, he would be Barry Larkin. A star from another era that current fans don’t remember nor care about

I love Albert Pujols but Manyle and Foxx are top 15 ever and Schmidt is not far behind them. I have Pujols around 30th (I have some arranging to do on my all time list but he’ll probably stay about there). He’s definitely in a slightly different tier

His consistency puts him very close to my line (I agree that he’s still on the outside looking in tho) His 8 year peak of 143 OPS+ with 28 homers and over 100 RBI and 4.9 bWAR ball per year was super underrated Also was like 7 OBP points from a 345 slash line for that period

Matt Holliday, Jackson Holliday’s father, received only 1% of the HOF vote last year and although I don’t consider him a Hall of Famer, I think he deserved a bit more consideration: 7X All-Star 4X Silver Slugger 2007 NL Batting Title (.340 BA) 2007 NL MVP Runner-Up (386 TB) 2007 NLCS MVP (1.145 OPS) 2011 WS Champ 2,096 Hits 316 Home Runs 1,220 RBI .299 Hitter with a 132 OPS+ That is quite a resume to only garner 1%.

In today's edition of "Old Players Most People Have Forgotten About," we remember John Rocker. He pitched in the postseason four years in a row, maintaining a perfect 0.00 ERA and an impressive 0.871 WHIP.

@WAVEBOY21982561 @YankeeWRLD DeGrom is like barely over the Rivera line. Innings matter tbh. And Idt I’m slandering Pedro. I have him as the 26th best player ever. But again innings. He has way way fewer IP than Maddux, Johnson, or Clemens not to mention Barney or Satch whose career innings dwarf even them
