#BREAKING #TrainNews : Te Huia will get additional off-peak services that will start running in February 2024. A third daily return service will run on Thursdays and Fridays, where demand has been highest, and a second return service on Saturdays.

#StationNews : Parnell Station underpass will open to the public prior to Christmas 2023. The stairs on the station building side will drop back down to the existing ground-level path as the proposed boardwalk is part of a private development that is currently on hold.

#TrainNews : Te Huia carried 249 passengers per day on average last year. The service received a 98% customer satisfaction rating last year, so far this year, KiwiRail is exceeding its schedule service reliability target, at 98%.

The survey identified some areas where further work is needed and this is underway. KiwiRail was also undertaking an upgrade of the Strand Station. Including the construction of a ticket office, toilets, seating and café, there will also be accessibility upgrades. 2/2

#TrainNews : Te Huia has seen a 64.9% increase in rides for February (in comparison to the same time in 2023). During the first 4 weeks of the new timetables in service, Te Huia saw 1,731 rides counted on the extra trips (total rides for these four weeks was 7,554).

#CRLNews : At the Mercury Lane to Karanga-a-Hape Station crews are installing the treads on the set of triple escalators from B1 to B2, roughly 20 metres above platform level. Crews have also begun fitting glass barriers between the escalators and commissioning the escalators.

#TransportNews : @AklTransport 's international bus stop will move to @AKL_Airport 's Transport Hub tomorrow. An AT spokesperson said there may be a delay in updates to the AT App & information display screens to reflect the stop’s new location. The stop number remains the same.

#CRL #StationNews : Aluminum cladding is being installed on the threshold between the passenger concourse and platform levels of Te Waihorotiu Station. Printed on the cladding is a motif, designed by mana whenua artist Graham Tipene.

#TrainNews : KiwiRail's (KR) track replacement work on the Wairarapa line is progressing with KR work teams doing a push this Christmas with the aim to lift the temporary speed restrictions in January which will allow @metlinkwgtn to resume the off-peak train services.
