THE EVACUATION NOTIFICATION FOR INUVIK HAS BEEN LIFTED.
There is no longer any threat to Inuvik from EV014 as the only remaining active area is in the northern part of the fire.

(4/4)Although highways may be open, remember that can change very quickly. Big River in Fort Providence will be open on fixed hours to gas up. As Hay River access is closed, the next available place for gas is Meander River, 71 kms out of Hay River for those leaving Yellowknife.

Helicopters and airtankers were successful in reinforcing the dozer lines which were breached yesterday after tireless work
DID YOU KNOW: Managing wildfires relies on more than just our excellent fire crews. Dispatchers, admin staff, finance experts, safety officers, airtanker crews, communications experts and a ton of others ensure our wildfire program is safe, effective and well-managed.
It has grown to roughly 6 hectares Airtankers completed several drops through the late evening yesterday to reduce fire intensity and growth potential. There is potential this fire could grow to the north and east under expected heavy winds from the southwest tomorrow. (2/3)
