“Lord, we entrust ourselves to you.” Two years ago tonight, I prayed this line on the side of a canyon road, watching the car I had been in engulf in flames after a head-on collision. There was nothing wrong with that prayer, but even as those two cars collided, I was already in the care of my loving Heavenly Father. And had May 2022 been etched on my tombstone, I would have only known His love and care more deeply. There is more to the story of that night and the months that followed. I may share more in another context and at another time, but two years later, I’m so grateful and seek every day to serve the Lord with gladness (Ps. 100:2).
