Coach Andy did it!!! He hit the Olympic Trials standard today in Sacramento, running 2:17:49! We are lucky to have him in our program, both for his coaching abilities and as a role model for all our athletes on the power of dedication and perseverance!!
Still processing yesterday. The bottom line is our boys finished 8th in the state (after being ranked 16th in the pre-season)! Girls finished 16th (after being ranked 25th in the pre-season)! The spirit of Northridge XC is strong!
In tough weather conditions, we had five girls under 20 minutes in a race for the first time since 2012, and we had five girls set lifetime pr’s. That’s how you qualify for State!
I have no idea who these two high school runners were, but great sportsmanship by one of the boys to help a fellow competitor who was struggling to finish.
Just finished 4 miles on the Pumpkinvine! So grateful to have this resource in our community. Raise your hand 🙋♂️if you appreciate the paths/trails in your community AND the people who maintain them!
This girl is an amazing combination of talent, competitive drive, work ethic, and great attitude - and today that all came together for her. Congrats
@tamebaylis
for being the Elkhart sectional individual champ!
Still processing yesterday. Very proud of our kids. Boys finished 8th as a team for the 2nd year in a row. Also, for the 2nd year in a row we were the top team from north of Indy.
So much class shown by
@XCRedHawk
Coach Wynn and athlete Tommy Claxton after the race today. We are looking forward to seeing Goshen back at full strength next week for their tournament run.
Can’t resist posting this video of Coach McClane getting a little ice water shower after the meet today. He was so oblivious that the boys just took their time. Hilarious.
If you enjoy competition and haven’t seen these three boys race each other, you are missing out! They’ve each done their share of winning. Congrats to our Jack for coming out on top today at the Sectional.
#champ
Love the way our teams bond with each other. After a great Regional race, the boys hung out at dinner and a movie. Meanwhile, the girls got together to carve pumpkins and some giant pickle looking thing.
Awesome moment: Jack Moore of
@nridgeathletics
meets Maurie Kline. Moore just broke Kline’s 44 year sectional record in the 3200 meter run. Kline ran 9:24 in 1977. Moore just ran the race in 9:18
Hey athletes - I’m just going to speak for all your coaches and say we really miss you! One thing this time is helping me understand is just how much I love coaching you all. Fingers crossed for summer training!
Our Raiders ran with the heart of champions today! Boys and girls both win team Sectional titles!
@tamebaylis
and
@JaxonMiller25
are individual champs! Tame repeats her individual title from last year.
Our top three girls are moving on! Tame with a new school record, and Haylee and Dakotah both had season best times! We are sad that our girls team missed by 7 points of moving on.
Congrats to
@XCRedHawk
boys on their NLC title yesterday. We thought we could be close to them, but the whole conference ran into an absolute buzzsaw yesterday. The rest of the state should take notice.
#respect
What can we say about Dakotah from today? Running her 2nd state meet as a sophomore, she stuck to her race plan and finished 28th in a school record time! So impressive!
8th grader Jaxon Miller won the state middle school 1600 championship on Saturday, running 4:37.85. Looking forward to seeing him run for
@NR_RaidersXC
this fall!
Congrats to
@jackmoo98156458
who placed 12th in 16:38 and
@JaxonMiller25
who placed 18th in 16:44. T-shirt winners!! I feel like they should look happier.
Huge day for the Raiders! We were blown away by the number of season and lifetime PR’s! Boys finished third today, beating 4 teams that we lost to in the regular season. Girls finished 2nd today and are NLC co-champs for 2019.
Boys came up a bit short of the win today, but finished 2nd at the Semi State and advanced to State. Baylor set a new freshman school record and finished 4th. His twin brother Xavier was a clutch 5th finisher for us today.
Girls finished second and boys third at NLC today. Great performances up and down the lineup. More pictures coming, but for now, let’s just take a minute to appreciate our seniors and all they have contributed to this program.
Some very sad news for
@NR_RaidersXC
as one of our biggest fans died on Saturday. Let’s support Coach McClane and his family as they grieve the passing of his mom.
Our senior leader, Jack Moore, placed 8th yesterday - that’s the highest individual place for a Northridge boy since 1994! Congrats on an amazing season, Jack!
Jaxon Miller finished 71st in his first State XC meet. He finished the race strong, just like he finished the last five weeks of the season. Excellent sophomore season!
Girls finish 8th and miss a state qualifying spot by 5 points. Boys are 7th, missing state by 8 points. Those results hurt. Bad. But we are so proud of our kids and how far they’ve come this season.
Hey
@NRRaiderFB
- last year the night before the State Meet, we shared these Jimmy Buffett lyrics with our athletes:
Take it all in,
It’s as big as it seems.
Count all your blessings,
Remember your dreams.
Breathe deep tonight. Bring it home tomorrow!
Congrats to our boys for finishing second at the Elkhart Sectional today.
@XCRedHawk
deserves credit for another trophy today, and helping us raise our level as well.
Raider girls went 7-0 tonight at the second NLC super dual to match our record at the first one. Fast running from our girls tonight! 15 season PR’s and many of those were lifetime PR’s! Congrats, girls!!
Exciting to see the commitment from our boys today. Lifetime PR’s from Jaxon (first time under 16!), Nathan (first time under 17!), Will, and Josiah. Great racing!
Can’t say enough about the guts Jack Moore showed today. Lifetime PR in tough conditions and out-kicking guys in the last 100 meters for what turned out to be the final individual qualifying spot.
Congrats to girls special award winners:
Haylee Hile - MVP
Ali Bache - Mental attitude
Maddy Kauffman - Most improved
Caitlin Clark - Raider Courage
Tame Baylis - Frosh award
Ella Hoefer - JV Mental attitude
Great season, Raiders!
Senior Tame Baylis ran her 3rd State meet and finished 33rd. Frosh Dakotah Moore finished 49th. Senior Haylee Hile ran her 4th State meet(!!!!) and finished 54th. We think we are the first girls team to ever qualify 3 individuals and they proved they belonged!
Some members of the boys team went to the Dunes today - even though it is the only cloudy day this week and they can’t go swimming. At least they represented
@NR_RaidersXC
on one of the dunes.
Congrats to our all-NLC girls - Tame Baylis, Dakotah Moore and Haylee Hile. This is Tame’s 3rd time being all-conference and Haylee’s 4th! Amazing consistency over a career.
In keeping with tradition, the girls made shirts for the coaches to wear the day before the conference meet. One coach seems to have gotten the short end of the stick this year.
The girls team ended their season today with a 16th place finish at semi-state. While we are disappointed to not send anyone to state this year, we are proud of our team and their improvements this year!
We are so proud of
@alison_bache
and Andrew Eichstadt for being named First Team Academic All-State! Well deserved honor for two outstanding student-athletes.
Great day for the Raiders! Not fast times because it was HOT, but we raced hard. Freshmen-sophomore boys were 4th, varsity girls 4th, and varsity boys are CHAMPS!! Full results on this link:
Check out the support the MS kids gave their teammate, Peter, as he was finishing his first complete race. We are so proud of every one of our runners!
Boys won the NLC today! Girls took second in a great effort. Boys JV also dominated the field and girls JV also finished second. We had too many lifetime PR’s to count. Can’t ask for much more than running your fastest at the end of the season.
Love the way our kids all stick together. Top runners for the Raiders today were sophomores
@BaylorMill
for the boys and Dakotah Moore for the girls who each placed 18th in their race.
