As good as Matthew Wood is and the prestige that he carries being a 1st round pick, I see Wilkie or another center being more of a need for NoDak. Faceoffs down the stretch were detrimental to the team’s success and Wilkie took the 2nd most faceoffs in the country at 54%.

Something to watch: NoDak has fielded 9 Defensemen just twice during Brad Berry’s tenure: in 2018-19 and 2019-20 when Casey Johnson was listed as a forward/defenseman. MacDonald’s commitment brings the current projected number on the roster for 2024-25 to 9!
