This morning Nebraska Cattlemen’s International Arrivals policy proposal passed in NCBA’s Cattle Health and Well Being Committee. We thank our board member Jaclyn Wilson for her leadership to defend the U.S. cattle industry from foreign animal diseases and parasites by advocating to strengthen surveillance and inspection of International travelers at our borders. We look forward to continuing this important discussion in San Diego this summer.

Did you know it takes about twice the calories of beans, peas, and/or lentils to get the same amount of protein from beef? Today, NC Vice President Craig Uden provided comments to the Departments on the Scientific Report of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee to express our members’ concerns with the committee’s proposal to cut American’s red meat consumption and increase plant protein consumption. Not only is beef delicious, but it is sustainable and nutrient dense. If we’re focused on the health and nutrition of Americans, beef should be on the menu.
