Increasingly I think the key question is around the quality of the cricket. Has the 100 been significantly better than the blast or close to the IPL? Has it helped England get better? With this investment will we see any changes. Seems to me the IPL has made a stronger India, but keeps flogging the same old established players who increasingly opt to just play T20 around the world, which makes sense, but where are the next great players coming from and how does England get stronger?

Whakapapa, the need to belong, is a driving force behind NBCC

Whilst they continue to sell out the ECB and grounds will milk this demographic for all they are worth - possibly the last generation with enough disposable income. What will happen when future generations can't afford these prices with the increasing rental and mortgage costs, general cost of living, and the larger range of options available. For those brought up on Test Cricket being the Holy Grail it is where the spend is prioritised, for those brought up on the white ball fad(s) will we see such loyalty ..... and spend?
