My name is Pamela Odindo. I'm 57 years old, from Asembo in Siaya County. Most of my life I have been into farming, mainly subsistence. Sometimes though I have to substitute it with casual jobs. One of the things that makes me know I'm blessed is being able to wake up every morning and go about my chores with ease, though what I do sometimes come with its own share of challenges, but we move on regardless. I'm mostly motivated to work to improve the life of my household and even build myself a better house, though the one I currently have isn't bad but I wouldn't mind a more beautiful shelter. Something I have never liked doing is scrubbing soot from my cooking pots. It's not only tiresome and straining but also shortens the life of the utensils. For years I have had to deal with it because I have been using firewood in an open fire to cook. The first time I saw the Mukuru Stove was at a neighbor's house and I was shocked because I didn't see any smoke or perceive fuel smoke. Having gotten one for myself now, makes me want to cook from morning till dusk because I feel no effort in preparing meals any more. I don't have to struggle with stained cooking pots either. Above all, I'm sure my health will also not be at risk as compared to when I was using the open fire. Thank you Mukuru for this amazing clean stove. #MukuruImpactStories #StoriesFromMukuru

My name is Perez Apiyo Odila from Siaya County. I'm 46 years old and currently I'm into business, something I have been doing for the last 15 years. My business involves selling daily-use household wares, a venture that has enabled me take care of the needs of my children including education and other basic needs. As I keep some business stock in my house, I sometimes multitask, juggling between preparing meals for my family, attending to customers and doing other domestic chores. This was almost practically impossible while using the open fire because I could not move away from it and do something else, it's something you have to sit next to and keep watch. I can admit the Mukuru stove has made my work easier because it burns fuel economically and it's very safe. It makes me do many other things while I also cook for my family. It has also greatly reduced my spending on fuel. I appreciate this product from Mukuru Clean Stoves. #MukuruImpactStories #StoriesFromMukuru

Last Sunday, we joined the congregation of ACK St. Pauls Memba Church in Rarieda, Siaya County, to educate them on the benefits of using a Mukuru Stove and encouraged a lot of them to purchase our stoves. This is a part of our education and awareness creation campaign in local communities. The goal is to ensure that households do not continue to use inefficient stoves when they can switch to improved cookstoves for $10. #MukuruStories
