The actor who played Burnett Stone in
#TATMRParody
, my Grandpa Kes, passed away peacefully after an ongoing battle with dementia on Christmas Eve this year. He really was the funniest, smartest dude. I'm SO lucky I had an excuse to spend all that time with him filming the Parody.
Hate to break it to ya, but you've been living a lie. This is probably the most convincing
#TATMRParody
shot I edited on my own without help from my more knowledgeable VFX crew. Due to the dark winter lighting conditions, it took me 18 hrs to clean up the 2 secs of footage.
I think it's been long enough now for me to discuss the appearance of Brian O' Connor as Schemer in
#TATMRParody
! Brian was privilege to be able to direct, he was a professional, coming up with new ideas for the scene on the fly. He even brought screen-used clip on hair curls!
I'm so pumped that
@FlyingPringle
,
@wrreviews
,
@wilburpyt
,
@ericpierre53
, and everyone else who made Project Tiger Moth possible finally got to share this TTTE love letter with those it was written for yesterday. Here's a thread of my BTS pics when I shot my TWR "rough draft".
#TATMRParody
premiered on YouTube 2 years ago today, and honestly changed my life in ways I couldn't have anticipated. I'm still exceeding proud of the work we all put into the film, so thank you to everyone that made me feel like our years of work were worth it. I'm very lucky.
Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends is a miracle. The concept of adapting the Rev. W. Awdry's books to children's television would be an impossibility in 2021 because it seems the only profitable option is to emulate a loud 'n flashy American iPad app.
Thank you to everyone who watched and tweeted about
#TATMRParody
yesterday, I'm absolutely shocked and humbled by the response. In the next few months, expect an extended cut, deleted scenes, behind the scenes, commentaries, bloopers, and more!
So uh, hi guys. My name's Nicky. "Vinnie Smith" was a name I came up with in 4th grade when I made my YouTube account. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and tweets, I'm reading every single one of them. Wow. Thank you for enjoying my first feature film,
#TATMRParody
After
#TATMRParody
came out, Turtles apparently “went on a date with a girl” and bragged about he was in a Thomas the Train fan film which trended on Twitter. A few weeks later, I asked him if he was still seeing that girl. He responded, “she stopped opening my messages😢”.
The evolution of the TTTE fandom is fascinating to me. For years, I felt like it was widely accepted that the HiT era was trash but now I wouldn't make that generalization. At the end of the day, most people tend to gravitate towards the Thomas they grew up with. Just a thought.
The

Christmas Special is coming soon! I honestly doubt we'll be able to finish in time for the 25th but as soon as it's ready to be seen we'll release it. In the mean time, here's some promo pic appetizers. This one is bigger and better than the last, get excited.
I will never understand why TTTE chose to go global when they clearly can't afford it. The animation budget was cut in half and the amount of sets required of tripled. Why would you chose NOW as the time to make this change? Every single element is a reskin of existing assets.
Writing the script for the next
#TATMRParody
special has truly helped me to understand the limitless storytelling potential the Classic Series provided us with. It was a world so real, so tangible that you could never run out of stories. Yet
@Mattel
found a way to prove me wrong.
A few hours ago, my cat Penny was struck by a car and was killed instantly. She had only been living with us for 10 months, but she was already part of the family. She was a fucking awesome cat and I already miss her.
One year ago today,
#TATMRParody
premiered after 4 years of on-and-off writing, filming and editing. I was never trying to tell a normal TTTE story. Instead, in the process of satirizing the 2000 film, I think we were able to create a complex story of temptation and redemption.
TTTE is what made me the person I am today. Watching the Classic Series and being inspired to make my own videos taught me how to express myself creatively, and I intend to spend the rest of my life making movies because of it.
@Mattel
has taken that away from future generations.
Here is every face that was sculpted for our
#TATMRParody
in 2017-18, photographed together for the first time here. Thomas through Toby were done by
@HKPorterBEDT
, and George through Cranky by
@FlyingPringle
, both incredibly talented guys. See these faces in action on July 26th!
One of the true MVPs of the night was my big brother
@EEngine93
. He was so nervous and he really rallied. Here's his profoundly eloquent speech when asked on the panel about his journey with Thomas, sitting next to Rick Sigglekow and Britt Allcroft. (sorry for the quality)
This is
@FlyingPringle
saving my ass after turtlesandthomas threatened to call the police when I showed up to a theatrical screening on the movie I had been editing for 72 hrs straight prior to that. He then failed to aggressively break into our hotel room. 2019 was fun.
One of the most appealing elements of TTTE as a brand from the beginning was how old-fashioned it was. Both Ringo Starr and Awdry were absolutely dumbfounded by the immediate success in a market saturated by cartoon shows that were all louder, faster, and more action-packed.
Y’all ever get so stressed editing your Thomas movie it becomes a medical issue and you gotta go to the ER during an unrelated worldwide pandemic? No? Just me?

I REALLY hope I lose followers over this tweet: If you support Donald Trump, or at the VERY least are indifferent to him, you are a partially responsible for what occurred today. You may not have literally broken into the Capitol, but you were and still are a part of the problem.
Tomorrow evening at 6PM PST, make sure to check out the
#TATMRParody
Christmas Special! We weren't anticipating how long it would take to finish, so thank you for being patient. I PROMISE it will be worth the wait, I'm extremely proud of this short film.
One more ride, one last time. The Final MrConductorFan1406 video is unlike anything I've made before. We started writing and filming in March 2021, and now I'm finally satisfied with the edit enough to upload it! SUNDAY, OCT 30 @ 2PM PST

The day someone leaks the Down the Mine pilot from some hidden group chat is going to be the most underwhelming, disappointing day and I guarantee we will all be happier with the exaggerated fantasy versions we all have in our heads.
Max, my other cat, has had kidney problems for a while now. Just found out it’s cancer and he’s completely fucked, they’re putting him down rn but because of COVID restrictions I can’t say goodbye.
In order to make sure that the narrow gauge scaling remained accurate throughout the
#TATMRParody
Xmas Special, every single shot that featured Rusty interacting with the big engines needed to be edited to make the prop appear smaller by making his surroundings larger.
Every time I feel like I'm losing interest in Thomas, I sit down and watch an older episode, typically S5/6, and I'm immediately reminded of why I want to pursue film, and continue producing content surrounding the little blue devil. He is family, and he is home. Gotta love him.
Hi again! I recently came in contact with the crew member who took a lot of TATMR photos, and he has given permission for these images to be posted. Most of them have been seen, but there are a few that have not. Google Drive link below. Enjoy!
Computer crashed a second time trying to complete the render of
#TATMRParody
. Trying again right now, but its completely out of my control. I'm so sorry this keeps happening.
Here's another
#TATMRParody
VFX Breakdown for a shot that required 3 separate editors. It was tweaked on and off for two years. In the final version, D10+tracks are in Ohio, the cliffs+Mr. C. are in Toronto, the face in CA, and the original viaduct prop in London.
I leave Twitter for a month, and society collapses. Guess that's a good enough cue as any to come back.
#TATMRParody2019
updates coming soon, stay tuned.
Faulty Whistles is one of my favorite episodes of all time, the ending in particular. I don't know what is, but there's something so quintessentially "Thomas-y" about it. It evokes a feeling, a tone, something that the first 6 seasons (minus TATMR) have that was lost with HiT.
The response to
#TATMRParody
has been overwhelmingly flattering and I’m so proud to have created something that resonated with this many people. I’m shocked there isn’t a wikia yet😂😂
Hey uh, so that everyone's clear on this - Just because you're a republican, it doesn't mean you're a Trump supporter. Just because you are a democrat, it doesn't mean you need to like Biden. There CAN be more nuance to the situation.
#TATMRParody2019
3+ years in the making, shot across 3 countries, and dozens of friends and collaborators made it possible for me to release this first snippet of our new, feature-length parody film. We go live in 20 mins. This is it, thank you.
Tomorrow at 2 PM PST, tune in to the premiere of The Magic HALLOWEEN Parody! A lot of people put their all into this project, so make sure to check it out!
