@tferriss While you'll find some good suggestions in the comments, you'll be better off going to see a physical therapist who can identify what your unique joint/ soft-tissue imbalances are from your spine down into your fingers. Then you'll know exactly what to do and why.

@NickHoopes_ @UberPT Within weeks of receiving that DM, my HS athlete turned corners all around and went on to play college sports. Life is a mystery. We're just doing the best that we can until the mystery gets revealed.

@mboyle1959 @BooSchex @SimpliFaster Boo makes some good points: 1. Causes of HSI being are both external and internal. 2. Each one is a "biomechanical puzzle." 3. Teaching mechanics, sprinting year-around, and addressing mobility in kinetic chain are all solid recommendations. To build upon the above:

@mboyle1959 @BooSchex @SimpliFaster 2. Boo's advice on getting runners doing short (10m) sprints & logical progressive loading of hams post HSI is also sound. 3. IME, daisy chains of trigger-points are present in both medial & lat hams in runners with HSI that respond to dry-needling, plus the above. Good article!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 Healthcare must be be simple. Transparent. Built around people, not systems. That’s exactly what independent medical practices deliver—uncompromised patient care without the layers of bureaucracy that slow things down and drive costs up. Designed for Better Care Independent physicians make decisions based on what’s best for the patient. No corporate mandates. No revenue-driven protocols. Just medicine, practiced the way it was meant to be—focused, thoughtful, and personal. Efficiency Without Compromise Large health systems introduce complexity. Independent practices remove it. Faster scheduling, direct access to physicians, and a seamless experience that prioritizes care over paperwork. Lower Costs, Higher Value Pricing shouldn’t be a mystery. Independent practices operate with lower overhead, which means more transparent pricing and fewer inflated costs. No hidden fees. No unnecessary facility charges. Just the care you need—without the markup. Innovation That Puts Patients First Consolidation stifles progress. Independence fuels it. When physicians control their own practices, they create better models of care—like direct contracting and upfront pricing—that put patients and employers in control. A Better Future for Physicians Healthcare works best when doctors are empowered. Independent physicians experience higher job satisfaction, lower burnout, and more freedom to innovate. When they thrive, patients do too. A Smarter Way Forward Independent practices aren’t just an alternative to hospital systems. They’re the future of better, more affordable, more human healthcare. And they’re just getting started. Rojas out
