@TulsiGabbard Russia hasn’t stuck by a treaty or agreement in modern history. You literally, *literally* cannot deal with them.

@LuxFella It’s ugly Russian territory. Let’s not be like Putin and ignore concepts like sovereignty and international law just because of the aesthetics.

@jrichv @DeconstrucTed80 @CalltoActivism Congress has the power to impeach judges, just as they can with presidents. Mirroring the way they confirm judges and certify presidential elections. Among the branches of government, congress is indisputably the primary one.

@Otto_Katz_2024 @JeffFisch I mean no personal offense. But I suspect a significant proportion of the hardcore MAGA have a very basic understanding of how the world works. So this would not particularly surprise me.

@DFIRJames @MikeNellis …cancers *are* cured through treatments. What are you talking about? Treatments and prognoses get better every year. It’s a big business for sure but a lot of the research is publicly funded precisely because the long-term profitability is unclear. So companies can’t afford it.

@JeepsifuSmith @kyledcheney I doubt we have the energy to get into that debate here, but I think you’re mislead about the so-called open criminality of these people. Trump was charged and convicted because both the facts and his criminal intent were clear and proven.

@JeepsifuSmith @kyledcheney That is in some ways a natural progression but also a qualitative chance. Either laws matter, or they don’t. Trump and his buddies appear to argue the latter, which is horrifying.

@USArmyOfficer @JeepsifuSmith @kyledcheney I’m skeptical they will. Very bearish about the future of the US.

@JeepsifuSmith @kyledcheney Even if you were right, there are limits to how POTUS may execute its duties. What Trump is doing is so unprecedented on so many axes that a lot of legal wrangling is bound to follow. “Ignore the law and do what you want” is very much not one of POTUS powers.

@MarkusEicher70 @P_Kallioniemi I feel you. For what it’s worth, the protocol that BlueSky is built on is free and will endure, and a lot of people are gradually migrating there.

@Catch_A_Stunt @tariqnasheed There was a black population in America for a long time before the US came to be. Their labor was instrumental in building the nation as it exists today.

@peterrhague Is there a coherent, enduring, and systematically oppressed and/or disadvantaged population of the descendants of slaves in Turkey?

@PharmWoman @TrentKubasiak @_waleedshahid @lawprofblawg I believe that taking a strong stance against Israel would have lost her many more voters. Like it or not, a majority of Americans was for the genocide.

@ray_ervian Weirdly enough, I could imagine some type of tower defense / zombie wave survival gameplay. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that turn-based before. Feels like someone must have done it. A genre-straight dungeon crawler, but post-apocalyptic, also makes perfect sense.

@LookAtMyMeat1 I last played Minecraft. I kind of doubt this guy has the patience to gather the resources to open the Ender portal. The game before that was Caves of Qud. He’d stand no chance there.
