Got closer to God nabakithi. Love found me. I resolved my father’s estate and started travelling again. Got a promotion at work. Started planning towards moving into a bigger apartment. I was the happiest I had been since loosing my father. Life started making sense again❤️🙏🏽

In a phase where I’m trusting the universe to make my wild prayers happen. @BigConcerts please can you get your people to speak to @Adele’s people and get her to come to South Africa😭 I promise you, you won’t even need to market her shows. Just give us a date and time😭😭

@KgothatsoMoroe @rinae_yhe There is a significance to a lot of things that are done during iLobola, umabo and umembeso that is rooted in ancestry. I think families no longer explain the significance of certain steps. Which is why people don’t understand the significance anymore

@KgothatsoMoroe @rinae_yhe Further, once the negotiations is done and the from is gifted with a goat that is slaughtered. That is ancestral. During umabo, the gifts that acknowledge your parents whether alive or deceased. The bride being bathed with inyongo.

@KgothatsoMoroe @rinae_yhe So, based on my understanding, the entire process forms part of our culture but there are aspects of it, which are directly linked to ancestry. For example, the number of cows, there are some that directly acknowledge your parents, dead or alive. (1/1)

@Lady_Upendi @SisiSeeme @realnickjgood Correct if I am wrong, but my understanding of dowry (if we being strict) is what the brides family pays to the groom’s. That is not lobola. Lobola has specific number of cows and practices, is there a biblical reference for this?

@tshepimamashela In order for there to be evolution, there must be a beginning. So if iLobola has evolved, where does Christianity begin and where does traditionalism end? Just trying to understand before I can engage effectively

@rinae_yhe There are so many bits and pieces that feed into everything that I would be doing traditionalism and injustice by trying to provide a summary here. But you just can’t separate the two because there is no Christian foundation for any of the above.

@rinae_yhe iLobola on the other hand, begins with a letter. Then prior to the arrival of the prospective groom, you would have to communicate with your ancestors that, a family is coming, basically ask for blessings during the whole process

@rinae_yhe So I a can only answer from a Zulu perspective and even in that, based on how we grew up (conscious that different dialects have different customs). So what you’ve described to me, seems more like an engagement where the guy can ask for daughters hand and the family agrees.

@rinae_yhe Becoz traditionalism varies within the different tribes, there wud be different practices for each, as it’s not universal. However Christianity is universal. I think the best way 2 answer this, would be 2 ask, in Christianity, what is the significance of dowry? Where does it fit?

@SHEIN_Official Buffalo Logistics representatives claim that you guys are liars. They say my package is stuck at customs but your site says that it was cleared and is in transit. This is 4 days later. So I’m confused at whose lying😭
