Everyone tells my son who has Tourette to educate kids about his tics so they’ll stop bullying him. It infuriates me. It’s not his job to teach other kids not to be assholes. And I doubt it would change them anyway.
And honestly, you don't need to know what ANY disability is to know not to stare at people, laugh, make rude comments, use ableist slurs, etc, etc. Literally none of that is about people being ignorant. It's about people being ableist jerks.

I own a copy of Shreier’s book. I’d recommend you read it. It’s an eye-opening and sympathetic account of what’s happening mostly to teen girls. It’s not transphobic to want girls to make it thru puberty safely & happily. To not be mutilated by surgeons.
