@africatechie @_Effatta Sierra Leonian pidgin is also a very interesting version of pidgin when compared to ours in Cameroon. Nigeria was colonized in 1884 but Olaudah Equiano wrote a book called « Equiano’s travels » published in 1789 that relates his experiences after he was captured by slave traders.

@lukem1 @africatechie She is right though! Equatorial Guinea speaks Pidgin but they were colonised by the Portuguese. Their pidgin sounds like an old version of Cameroon pidgin. I met a woman and we spoke in our Pidgins! Fascinating stuff
