If you believe the lie that taxing independent schools will 'save state schools', then be prepared to be disappointed, as confirmed by the IFS. Imagine causing such chaos to children across both sectors. Shame on @RachelReevesMP #Budget #Budget2024

Disharmony in the ranks. Even Labour MPs see the damage that @bphillipsonMP ideological attack on education & taxing SEND kids is causing. "What assurances can the Prime Minister give my constituents that his government will put children before ideology?" says @carlisle_labour

@messycrafter @NoEducationTax @BellaWallerstei I hope you didn't discriminate in your classroom. I know I certainly don't. People like you give teachers a bad name. I'm glad I never had the misfortune to work alongside you.

@StuartCoster @CF_Farrow @anthonyboutall @lianafricker @BellaWallerstei @OllyMetcalfe @EducationNotTax Oh dear. When your own colleagues realise that anyone paying their own way and reducing the burden on the state sector is a good thing.

@bphillipsonMP What happens to those who decide to change career in the future, and find their options are limited, because no one had asked them to even try and get their Maths and English skills whilst they were still young.

@educationgovuk I'm sure children will have a great start being cared for by someone who didn't even need to pass basic Maths and English since you've decided to scrap that requirement for apprenticeships.

@dshensmith Without basic English skills, they'd find it hard to understand and pass the CSCS test, which means they wouldn't even be allowed on many construction sites.

@HopeForTo @UKLabour Exactly. They won't be able to get on most sites without a CSCS card, and they won't be able to pass that test without basic English skills.
