It’s ridiculous that this has become an issue defined by ‘left/right’ politics. Left wing politicians in Scandinavia and Germany tried to downplay it until the statistics made that impossible. The Right capitalised. Women and girls are being failed by political parties who place ideology and ‘multi-cultural cohesion’ over statistical facts. These parties will pay the price at the ballot box (as in Germany) but women are paying the price right now. Statistics on rape and crime aren’t racist. Ignoring them and holding the demographic largely responsible for their increase to a different standard is inherently racist. Covering up the evidence by refusing to collect or release it is a betrayal of women and girls.
