I’m very interested to know if this offer was pitched by Houston or Detroit. The #Astros very well might have upped theirs a little bit, as I predicted. I thought that would be enough to settle it, but I was wrong. But it could’ve been DET.

The Bregman saga is now officially over. I said for a while now that it was most likely going to be the #RedSox. It made too much sense. The #Astros’ 3B job now belongs to Isaac Paredes, but Cam Smith is going to be the real plan for the future.

To be clear, many #Astros fans were sick and tired of his abysmal starts, myself included. But he still built a legacy in Houston and received a lot of leniency from local fans and media. He won’t be afforded that at all if he goes up north.

Nobody hates playing baseball more than Anthony Rendon. I remember thinking this was a solid signing for the #Angels, but it’s been one of the worst contracts of this century. Guy physically can’t play pro baseball. Last time he was healthy was the 2019 World Series.

I’m as big a fan of Berkman and Oswalt as you’ll find. They’re #Astros legends. They’re the type of players that fall under the “Hall of Very Good”. Of course, I’d be thrilled to see them somehow get inducted to the HOF one day. But I just don’t think it’s in the cards.
@theaceofspaeder I’ve been on this with Berkman for awhile now. At worst, he should have been allowed the 10 years to try and get in and not of fallen off after the 1st year. Same with Roy Oswalt. Look at him compared to Felix. Oswalt feel off after first year as well and Felix with get 10 yrs!

A critical part of making this lineup work will be the duo of Yordan Alvarez and Christian Walker. I’m going to need to see a combined: • 65 HRs • 180 RBIs #Astros will be in good shape if that duo can reach these marks.
