New Home Office migration stats show a sharp fall in health & care visas issued after the Tory gov introduced restrictions:
89,095 were granted in year ending June 2024 — 26% down on the previous year
The April-June 2024 figure was *81% lower* than the same period in 2023

Very pleased to have signed the joint-cooperation agreement that paved the way for this.
But cancelling the Rwanda partnership removes the deterrent and is a step backwards in tackling illegal migration.
46 criminals and immigration offenders have been returned to Vietnam and Timor-Leste.
The rules need to be respected and enforced. We're ending the Migration Partnership with Rwanda, instead focusing on fast-tracking removals of people with no right to remain in the UK.

Wareham level crossing should now be open again. Further work being done on Wednesday, which might impact use.

Network Rail have let me know that the Wareham Level Crossing southside gate is jammed. The level crossing attendant is currently trying to fix the lock, and they are contacting engineers to get down to the crossing to make the repairs.

Data released this week show visa applications have dropped 30% amongst key routes.
