A low pressure will deepen across N France this afternoon bringing the mixture of rain, sleet & snow into parts of S Eng during the late afternoon/evening. Accumulations are expected to limited to hills however, depending on precipitation rates could see a dusting lower levels.

@PeterChailey @pooleweatheruk Yeah thought so lol, definetly would be a evaporative cooling scenario with heavier ppn rates, expected to drop lower than that as I'm slightly inland not immediate coastline.

@pooleweatheruk To be honest, this is possible. Trough more developed meaning heavier ppn rates which is why more snow is forecasted on this model.

Have been watching this trough developing within a cold pool which is expected to bring wintry showers possibly longer spells of Snow to S/SE Eng. 528dam line does suggest showers could be quite widespread and not so much restricted to S/SE Eng, update to come. ❄️

@pooleweatheruk UKMO 12z suggesting this too, definitely something there.

This weekend, we will start to transition into an E'ly with 850hPa temperatures reaching -10 quite widely, which would be conducive to snow to even low levels. Snow showers is expected with this, how organised, intensity & where is still to be found out. 🌨

@kofi_Davies1 Definetly not this cold spell, but happens after this there is some definitely signs for a prolonged severe cold spell which could correlate to beast from the east. Just eyes on for now.
