Hi all - I've set up a Buy Me a Coffee (or Coke in this case) page if anyone is feeling generous and wants to support the page as well as my caffeine addiction 😂. Weather is certainly my passion and I hope to continue the updates well into the future!
Boston in Lincolnshire is about to get smashed, absolutely mad structure and I don't believe I've seen something quite like it on a UK storm in September especially.
The aurora borealis with red pillars and the auroral oval in the 97% moonlight here in Herne Bay, Kent (51.3N 1.1E) at 18:26 today (25th November 2023).

I'm not sure who the original source for this video is but it's one of the most mental things I've seen personally from a windstorm. The wall of this house in Lampaul-Plouarzel in NW France gets sucked away due to the strong winds from
#StormCiar
án.
The Northern Lights down to the North Kent coast at Hampton, Herne Bay (51N) at 2143 today (26th Feb) during a burst of activity. The best shot I've ever got of them since trying to nab a picture of them properly in the last few years.

Incredible video from Reddit of the Leitrim Village tornado this afternoon, not sure who the original owner is or if it is indeed the Redditor that posted this so will leave the link here:
Nacreous clouds here in Herne Bay, Kent at 16:09 UTC & 16:12 UTC. A very rare cloud that forms in the stratosphere when temperatures are at least below -78C and is scarcely seen in Southern England.

Proud to announce that I've officially won the Standard Chartered Young Weather Photographer of the Year and certainly bonkers. 😂 I'd just like to say a huge thanks to
@RMetS
for the award and
@SnowbieWx
for giving me the push to enter. Thanks for the support over the years.
The calming voice of the late Ian McCaskill takes you back to the evening of the 13th of January 1987 during a big freeze. It was a lake-effect type snow event, dumping 15+ inches of snow widely in SE England. An extraordinary cold spell & is remembered very well. ⛄

Sky News showing the true disaster of these fires with houses being burnt to the ground, many dry months plus this extreme heat clearly a factor.

Me on ITV Meridian earlier for the Standard Chartered Young Weather Photographer of the Year by
@RMetS
. It was certainly an amazing experience and many thanks to the
@itvmeridian
team.
England is looking rather parched today on NASA's worldview. Image on the right is from the 27th of May, whilst the one on the left is from today. Little rain still in the forecast for now.

One of the best examples I've seen of a meteotsunami - caused by rapid changes in barometric pressure, i.e., from a thunderstorm in this scenario. A notable one was documented here in the UK at Folkestone in July 1929 that killed 2 people with a 6 m wave.
The
#aurora
really went pop just under the cloud here in Herne Bay in SE England at 23:35 BST. Cloud has moved in to spoil the fun now sadly. An impressive show considering the worsening weather conditions and brief period of clear skies!
River Don breaching the flood defences at
#Meadowhall
. Almost like the 2007 floods many years ago. God knows what the morning will look like.

Happened to fly over the same area earlier today with my drone and there's an ever-so-slight difference between the rest of the sea and that area, probably not wise to have a swim near there 🥴
This has got to be one of the best lightning shots I've ever taken here in Herne Bay. One shot, no stacking and was blinding to the eye 😂.

East & south-facing time-lapses from that webcam near Freiston, Lincolnshire yesterday afternoon which showed that very photogenic shelf cloud. Very impressive for the UK!
Another shot of the
#aurora
last night at 23:39 BST when I had finally realised that my lens had fogged up so it's a lot clearer. The colours straight off the camera are mental!
It looks like ANOTHER tornado has gone through Littlehampton this evening with a roof ripped clean off in one road. It seems to have occurred around 1850 BST.
Crumbs I’d be more than willing to bank ECM at 120h, almost certain that’d be snow for most of the SE. I’ll have a look at the ensemble means once I’ve woken up a bit more
Me having a go at presenting the weather yesterday for the weekend and today courtesy of
@HollyJGreen
allowing me to have a go (thanks very much!). A massive thank you again to
@RMetS
for the award and
@itvmeridian
as no one would have allowed me in front of a camera otherwise 😂
