One of my best friends (white) got pregnant with her boyfriend our senior year (he was black). They sent her to some camp to have the baby, and immediately give it up for adoption. Then she came back to town. She named her baby, and the new parents changed the name. It broke me.

I second this. My 4-yo's glasses from Zenni are $15; most places Rx for her start at $160 (frames only). And we have had to buy 5 pairs from lost/breaks.
Zenni optical is a decent site. Cheaper than Warby Parker. I got a pair for $70, that's frames & lenses.
