1) it's a tech demo. It's running on the most powerful machine you could get at the time. Which is higher speced than consoles.
2) Most games that are out NOW, were already in development when this tech demo came out. Games using this tech, are currently in development

I think about this, too much. Didn't get into game development until I was 30. Watching everyone my age be seniors and leads, when I was a junior, stung. Still does after promoting. But...I see it more as a thing to push for, even if I'm one of the older people in the room.

Every job has its days. Having had an entirely different career before joining games and knowing what I felt like...even my bad days no longer feel bad. At the end of the day, I still get to create something that'll make at least 1 person happy. For me, that's golden.

If there's one thing I'll be forever grateful for, in the 3D art side of Twitter, it's being able to see people's processes and problem solving. Especially from artists you respect.
Definitely gonna use that process for my personal work. Also, cycles is A1 for rendering.

Working out those tech art muscles and gave my materials a little razzle dazzle. Started getting those little food props in. Gonna add a proper ground and some trees soon. Then start a light VFX pass and what not.
Got the Unreal scene started. Time to tinker. Glad I did this first before any additional texture passes. The diffuse is WAY more vibrant in UE5 than Blender

Today I leaned there's a subreddit called "Defending AI Art" that prompters run off to and cope in. Criticism is part of the gig guys, you're gonna need thicker skin, or are artists gatekeeping that too?

It's definitely not a prompt. They didn't just run it through some BS photo generator. They probably ran it through Houdini (which has existed for a decade), since it's a procedural based 3D program that can handle that stuff and edited it further in Maya. Machine learning

Real talk, I known a lot of people in "dream jobs" that are miserable because they're not able to live the life they want. No free time. Can't see their S/O or maintain relationships. Can't enjoy the fruits of their labor in general. Just working 60-80 hour weeks.
When deciding on a career path, focus on the life you want outside of work.
Maybe you want a family. Time off to travel the world. A nice house. To be close to your parents. Stability.
What would you need to achieve that? And does the ‘dream job’ you are pursuing provide that?
