@nxmsxs @guypbenson thank you - I was looking for this comment. The Respect for Marriage Act does not “enshrine” SSM as OP would imply. In PA where I live, the state constitution *explicitly* defines marriage as limited to “one man and one woman”. It’s only not enforceable due to Obergefell.

@JosephPolitano The democratic establishment and its subscribers can criticize this all they want and continue losing election after election I guess. At some point, Dems need to open their eyes and differentiate the forest from the trees.

@EmmeElleVee @Whitepanther342 @Mrs_Lechner @dmc_dmcc I do also recognize that today it can be hard to access information with more and more things being locked behind paywalls. So in that way, Wikipedia is an invaluable resource for people who can’t afford to access certain information.

@EmmeElleVee @Whitepanther342 @Mrs_Lechner @dmc_dmcc That’s great. We don’t disagree (I don’t think). To me, teachers were, and are, correct to tell students not to cite Wikipedia as a credible source in and of itself, and to dig deeper and instead cite the primary sources. This was true then and is still true today.

@EmmeElleVee @Whitepanther342 @Mrs_Lechner @dmc_dmcc Im sensing probably won’t fully agree on what is considered “reliable” (even today, there are iffy citations or, more often, a lack of citations in many Wikipedia articles). But yes, it is a good place for general information today to start a search for more reliable sources.

@EmmeElleVee @Whitepanther342 @Mrs_Lechner @dmc_dmcc Wikipedia today is a fine starting place for general summaries and providing a central place for obtaining primary sources. It absolutely was not like that in the early days and has gotten a lot better. Teachers were correct to warn about using it as a primary source.

@Mrs_Lechner @dmc_dmcc “Wikipedia is not a credible source” was hammmmerrrrreddd into us. That mindset clearly has not been passed down to Gen Z.
