On this day in 1986, Alan McLoughlin joins Swindon from Manchester United on a free transfer. Alan went on to play 136 times for Swindon scoring 25 goals, including the winner in the 1990 Play Off Final. Alan joined Southampton in 1990 for £1m, a club record.

It’s think it’s mainly to do with the fact that 4 was his favourite number throughout his career, and he passed away on the 4th May. Can I also add that he put years of his life back in to the Academy, so I think he’s worthy of the recognition. Thanks for your thoughts though.
